As noted on Engadget HD the other day, and further clarified by Major Nelson this morning, that story about Target going exclusively Blu-ray was false. Turns out they're just installing Blu-ray aisle end caps, thanks to a new promotional deal with Sony, but HD DVD isn't going anywhere. Thats how it works. Microsoft has created a great gaming platform to develop for. And when did sony not want third party developers? If all you can depend on sony for is first games why buy a ps3? Last I looked the 360 had like four times as many games available. thats why nintendo and microsoft are moping the floor with sony. Go back to watching your blu-ray movies leave the games to us gamers.

With zero games to play I would say it has boosted blu-ray sales abit but thats all. If I had nothing to play, I would buy movies to. I am so glad microsoft decided to focus on games. And not a movie format that would take the cost of the console up $200. thank you microsoft....
Compression is always getting better, look at mpeg4 to vc1 encoding for movies.
I would of though that pc games would have silenced this issue. I can't remember the last time installed a 12GB game on my pc. Isn't blu-ray so slow that they waste a lot of space padding the disc? So if you have to repeat the same data on this disc because the drive is too slow whats it matter. Besides who wants full motion video games?
Last I looked you couldn't buy a ps3 for less than $499 and you could buy a core 360 for $299. I love the fact they post these sony fanboy articles as news. It just goes to show you how desperate these fanboys are. By the way isn't Microsoft getting ready to drop the hammer on sony with a price drop of at least $50. sure hate to be sony right now with microsofts fall game lineup...
Saying HD-DVD is dead is like saying that the ps3 is dead. the ps3 has a better chance of death than HD-DVD. HD-DVD is neck and neck with blu-ray right now as far as movie sales. Everyone on this site knows the ps3 is being out sold by the wii and 360 continually. Except for the month of July, thats one month for the ps3.
Its pretty easy to have a lag free experience on the PSN, because no uses it....
sonys had an equal experience since day one, or was that day two. sony will be lucky to offer the level of live by the time they release the ps4. Nothing sony does is unified.

The blu-ray drive in the ps3 is to slow to release in the 360. It just makes me think of how much padding is going on the blu-ray media.
It is a deluxe Ping Pong game and will make use of the true power of the ps3, of course 90 days later when it is released on the 360 it will run at 60 fps in 1080, better shading and draw distances.

Its always whats coming out.... Yeah CGI renders look cool as hell. the 360 and Wii have some kick ass titles coming out in 2008 also. the only thing ps3 fanboy can come to the table with are specs. Show me the games and I don't mean future releases.
I cant wait until the fall when Grand Theft Auto and all the other third party games are out. The 360 will have higher marks on graphics and gameplay. You know I imagine you will still be talking ps3 system specs in the year 2008.... Which specs are meaningless if the games suck...
sony's had more development time on the ps3 than third party developers and I just don't see the horse power. You would think sony would have tapped all that power? Its all numbers and a slow blu-ray drive...

Read game reviews 99% of the review mention how the 360 games have better frame rates, have better shading and draw distances. the only thing ps3 fanboy can come to the table with are specs.
